Privacy Policy for CashBook - Expense Tracker

Privacy Policy for CashBook - Expense Tracker
Effective Date: June 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how CashBook - Expense Tracker ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, processes, shares, and protects your information. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information Collection and Use
While your core financial entries (such as individual income records, transaction logs, and category budgets) are securely stored locally on your device's internal storage, the App utilizes third-party services that automatically collect and transmit specific technical and usage identifiers over the internet to function properly, monitor stability, and display advertisements.

A. Data Collected Automatically Via Third-Party SDKs
Device and Advertising Identifiers: We access and collect the Android Advertising ID (AD_ID), App Set ID, and Firebase installation identifiers. These are used to deliver targeted or non-targeted ads, analyze marketing campaigns, and prevent fraudulent ad traffic.

Usage and Interaction Metrics: We track how you navigate through the App, including session duration, page transitions, button clicks, and UI interactions to improve the product design and performance.

Diagnostics and Crash Logs: In the event of an application error or crash, technical data such as stack traces, device model, operating system version, and performance metrics (e.g., loading speed) are collected to identify bugs and maintain app stability.

Network Status: We verify network connectivity data, including IP addresses and Wi-Fi connection states, to safely transmit diagnostic data and optimize ad loading.

2. Device Permissions
To deliver specific in-app features, CashBook - Expense Tracker requires explicit runtime permissions from your Android device. You can manage or revoke these permissions at any time via your device settings:

Camera (CAMERA): Used strictly when you choose to utilize the "Add Receipt" or "Upload Bill" feature. This allows you to capture physical receipts to associate with an expense entry. Images are kept locally on your device.

Internet & Network (INTERNET, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE): Required to establish a connection with cloud infrastructure for analytics reporting, stability monitoring, remote configurations, and ad delivery.

Notifications & Alarms (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): Used to schedule and display precise local notifications, budget alert thresholds, and daily logging reminders that persist even after a device restart.

Advanced Device State (READ_PHONE_STATE, SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT): Utilized to appropriately handle app states during active incoming calls, present full-screen critical reminders for budget overruns, and display overlay alerts if configured by the user.

Advertising ID (AD_ID): Enables the integrated ad framework to read the device's persistent identifier for advertising attribution and compliance verification.

3. Third-Party Services and Infrastructure
The App integrates trusted, industry-standard development toolkits provided by Google LLC to maintain performance and monetize operations:

Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob): Serves advertisements inside the app. AdMob utilizes your device's AD_ID and general network location to display relevant ad units.

Firebase Analytics: Measures anonymous user behavior and engagement trends to help us plan updates and enhance features.

Firebase Crashlytics & Performance Monitoring: Automatically records and aggregates crash signatures and performance bottlenecks to ensure the app remains fast and reliable.

Firebase Cloud Messaging & Remote Config: Delivers configuration adjustments dynamically and handles transactional push notifications.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We respect your privacy and do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to outside parties.

Data sharing is strictly restricted to the automated, secure processing frameworks operated by Google's Firebase and AdMob platforms.

All network transmissions handled by these integrated SDKs are encrypted in transit using secure cryptographic protocols (HTTPS/TLS).

5. Your Data Rights and Management
A. Local Storage Cleanup
All financial logs, accounts, and receipt images are completely managed by you. You can permanently wipe this data by going into your device's Settings > Apps > CashBook - Expense Tracker > Storage and selecting "Clear Data", or by completely uninstalling the App from your device.

B. Advertising Controls
You can opt-out of personalized advertisements or reset your user profile tracking parameters at any time by navigating to your device's Settings > Privacy > Ads and resetting or deleting your Advertising ID.

6. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to align with new feature deployments or changing platform regulations. Any modifications will be made visible by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. You are encouraged to review this document periodically.

7. Contact Support
If you have any questions, security concerns, or feedback regarding the automated data processing or device permissions utilized by CashBook - Expense Tracker, please reach out to us using the developer support contact options listed directly under our official Google Play Store page.
