Terms of Use for CashBook - Expense Tracker

Effective Date: June 5, 2026

Welcome to CashBook - Expense Tracker ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

1. App Functionality and Purpose
CashBook - Expense Tracker is a personal finance utility designed to help you track daily expenses, log income, and manage budgets.

No Financial Advice: The App is provided as an organizational tool only. It does not provide financial, legal, or tax advice.

Data Storage: Your core financial records and receipt images are stored locally on your device. However, the App relies on an active internet connection to deliver analytics, ensure stability, and serve advertisements.

2. Device Permissions and Access
To provide its full suite of features, the App requests specific access to your device hardware and system states. You can modify these app permissions at any time through your Android device's Settings application [cite: 1.2.1]. By using the App, you acknowledge that it may request and utilize the following:

Camera (CAMERA): To capture photos of physical receipts for transaction attachments.

Network & Connectivity (INTERNET, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE): To connect to third-party cloud infrastructure for crash reporting, analytics, remote configurations, and advertisement delivery.

Notifications & Scheduling (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): To generate timely budget alerts and daily logging reminders, ensuring these alarms are seamlessly rescheduled if your device reboots.

Advanced Interface & State Monitoring (READ_PHONE_STATE, SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT): To present high-priority, full-screen alerts (such as budget overruns), display interface overlays, and monitor active phone states to prevent notifications from disrupting your phone calls.

Advertising Identifier (AD_ID): To interact with mobile advertising networks for the delivery of targeted and non-targeted ads.

3. Third-Party Services and Libraries
The App integrates several third-party libraries and SDKs to maintain performance and monetize the platform. Your use of the App is also subject to the operational practices of these third-party services:

Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): We use this network to display in-app advertisements.

Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, & Performance: We utilize these tools to automatically monitor app stability, log crashes, and track general usage trends to improve your experience.

Firebase Cloud Messaging & Config: Used to push remote updates and deliver external notifications.

Local Architecture: We utilize standard Android libraries (such as Room for local databases, Glide for image loading, and Lottie for animations) to construct the App's user interface and local data storage.

4. User Responsibilities and Data Loss
Data Backups: Because your financial entries are saved to your local database, you are solely responsible for securing your device. If your device is lost, damaged, or if you uninstall the App, your local data will be permanently deleted.

Acceptable Use: You agree to use the App in compliance with all applicable laws. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App or its integrated third-party plugins.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties
CashBook - Expense Tracker is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or uninterrupted functionality of the App. We do not guarantee that the App or its third-party cloud integrations will be completely free of bugs, errors, or downtime.
